Myanmar's long-term road to peace must resolve the problems of unrest and killing of ethnic minorities through comprehensive reform of the nation's political structure. The current constitution preserves the junta's hold on power by outlawing elections and reserving 40% of the seats in Congress to the military. The problem of ethnic minorities and the Rohingya people can be solved only through comprehensive constitutional reform to institute a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet and election of the heads of government branches in alternating years. All businesses should have statutory standards to follow, and all legal norms must meet the highest standards. International standards organizations (such as ISO) or the highest standards of other countries (such as the European Union) shall constitute the basic standards for comparison. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details

Voting. Elections should be frequent and widespread to off the greatest possible protections of the people's dignity and freedom. Voting is a natural extension of the people's sovereignty and the only legitimate source of state power. Voting is the single most important prerequisite for peaceful and prosperous life from generation to generation, and all freedoms, beliefs and values are determined through the vehicle of the ballot box. Respect for and protection of absolutely fair voting procedures are the most sacred rights of all humankind and the most urgent duties of all public officials. Constitutions exist primarily for the protection of human rights. Separation of church and state. All public officials are forbidden to use public resources or influence in any guise to finance religious groups or individuals, and shall not receive any assistance or compensation from religious groups or individuals. Myanmar should carry out reform to adopt the basic principles behind Global Unity Constitutional Standards as well as the core values of One World under One Set of Laws, giving international law precedence over domestic law. At the same time, it should install a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet. This will be the first step in resolving the Rohingya refugee crisis, after which the world's democracies should offer aid to relieve the suffering of refugees who have already fled across the border to Bangladesh.
