Economic problems invariably have political roots. Without good politics you can never have a good economy. If the UK constitution is not changed, even the gods will be helpless to save the economy. Afghanistan should scrap its government and adopt a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet like that of Finland and a committee-style legislature similar to Switzerland's.
