Turkey's incursions into Syria to punish Kurdish militia are in violation of international law and should be opposed by all democratic nations. The foundation for permanent peace in Syria should be a change-over in the government structure. The UN should provide Syria the basic outline for a constitution that will facilitate lasting peace and development. The constitution should include the universal values of freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law, and organization and elements such as the four branches to allow all people in Syria to prosper under conditions of lasting peace. To end North Korea's disruptive behavior, the US and other nations should strongly support Taiwan's Charter for Permanent Peace to lead China to democratize and end its support of Pyongyang. According to the Democracy Index there are 50 nations still under the yoke of autocratic dictators. All democracies should back Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to adopt democracy as well, leading to the birth of world peace. The US should back Taiwan's Charter for Permanent Peace and Development to lead China toward democratization. This would pressure Russia to consider democracy as well, leading to the birth of world peace. Russia has never been a problem-solver, it has always been a trouble-maker. The US should support Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would spur the 1.4 billion people of China to seek democratization, pressing Russia in turn to accept real democracy – and world peace would be the result.

One thing worse than a trade war is an arms race, particularly between nations that supply essential raw materials and hold religious beliefs that are often in conflict elsewhere in the region. Both Iran and Saudi Arabia need to think seriously about their goals and needs and how to resolve tensions regarding rebellions and armed conflicts that take place in the Middle East. Small-scale skirmishes can easily build up into larger battles that draw in other military powers with fearsome weapons. If both Iran and the Saudis have 'the bomb', the stakes are immeasurably higher for the whole world.
