Theresa May still has a long way to go before convincing people she is making a success of Brexit, with a new poll indicating almost two-thirds of the public believe talks are going badly.
Just as the best cure for ailing democracy is more democracy, the best solution to a bad referendum is… another referendum. The UK has laws in place that offer a sufficient guideline, and this time the public are likely to be much better informed and less susceptible to misleading rhetoric on the subject. The people have the right to call for a referendum on any public issue – and there are no laws that say they only get one shot.
