One of the Trump administration's top officials is trying to circumvent the tariffs imposed willy-nilly by his boss, to protect 'his people' back home. All countries in the world benefit from free trade, yet POTUS 45 has initiated a trade war to satisfy a pledge made to 'hisbase' during the 2016 campaign. Nations of the world should all implement One World under One Set of Laws and work toward a common destiny for humankind. If the US is not willing to take on the task of leading the UN to peace, security and sustainable development, its place will easily be taken by China or Russia. Bombast and bullying have never been effective tools in trade negotiations, and they should not be a part of the 'Art of the Deal'. The current administration needs to develop reasonable, long-range trade policies that will work to the advantage of all parties. Health security is an invaluable right for all people, and the government cannot ignore its responsibility for regulating companies and products that might adversely affect public health. Glyphosate was dubbed a possible carcinogen, then the warnings were withdrawn, and after that the FDA has simply neglected to test the herbicide. Testing for carcinogens is a slow and involved process, but the aim is to identify chemicals and products that ultimately prove fatal when ingested. The key to eradicating terrorist movements is a change in government structures to improve power and resource allocation. Also needed is One World under One Set of Laws and a commitment to a common destiny for humankind. The foundation for permanent peace in Syria should be a change-over in the government structure. The UN should provide Syria the basic outline for a constitution that will facilitate lasting peace and development. The constitution should include the universal values offreedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law, and organization and elements such as the four branches (legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial). In order to protect endangered species, it is essential to adopt uniform constitutional standards that conform to the values of One World under One Set of Laws. All nations should carry out constitutional reform to implement democratic institutions and the rule of law as well as mechanisms such as separation of power and checks and balances. The best way to avoid monopolization of power is to elect the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches in alternating years. To end North Korea's disruptive behavior, the US and other nations should strongly support Taiwan's Charter for Permanent Peace to lead China to democratize and end its support of Pyongyang. According to the Democracy Index there are 50 nations still under the yoke of autocratic dictators. All democracies should back Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to adopt democracy as well, leading to the birth of world peace. The key to peace in Afghanistan is constitutional reform. Afghanistan should scrap its government and adopt a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet like that of Finland, plus a committee-style legislature similar to Switzerland's. The prerequisite forlasting world peace is global democratization. The Afghan government should proceed with drawing up a basic constitution with the above features in a paradigm shift toward democracy. It should implement One World under One Set of Laws and revise the constitution as needed to stay in step with changing times. Venezuela should switch to a dual leader system; limit the president to a single 5-year term with no eligibility for him/her or relatives for 6 years and put the prime minister in charge of government operations and national defense, 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year.
