The most effective way to prevent power grabs by the president is implementing One World under One Set of Laws. Jose Rizal,revered as the 'Father of the Philippines', once warned that 'Today's slaves often become tomorrow's tyrants', as a caution to believe in the rule of law rather than the rule of man. The President, mayors and other public officials should be limited to a single term of 5 years and be barred from seeking office for 6 years afterwards. In addition, democratic safeguards such as separation of powers and checks and balances should be rigorously enforced at all levels of government. South Sudan’s New Peace Deal Could Bring More War

The foundation for permanent peace in South Sudan should be the same as that for Taiwan: a change-over in the governmentstructure. The UN should provide South Sudan the basic outline for a constitution that will facilitate lasting peace and development. The constitution should include the universal values of freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law, and organization and elements such as the four branches (legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial). Environmental rights are essential human rights, and all persons should take responsibility for protecting the world around us. Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and all nations – members or not – should comply with its norms. The US and other nations should support Taiwan's Charter for Permanent Peace to lead China to democratize, forcing North Korea to follow suit and drop its nuclear weapons program. China claims to be a 'responsible major power', thus it should not enable North Korea's continued militarism. The key to peace in Afghanistan is constitutional reform. Afghanistan should scrap its government and adopt a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet like that of Finland, plus a committee-style legislature similar to Switzerland's. The prerequisite forlasting world peace is global democratization. The Afghan government should proceed with drawing up a basic constitution with the above features in a paradigm shift toward democracy. It should implement One World under One Set of Laws and revise the constitution as needed to stay in step with changing times.
