Spain’s centre-left prime minister has backed calls for a second Brexit referendum, warning that Britain has taken the path to “self-absorption”.

Solution

The people have the right to express their opinion on any public issue at any time through a referendum, even if a referendum on the subject has already been held. In Switzerland the threshold for referendum petitions is only 50,000 signatures, and with that all citizens can voice their opinion at the ballot box rather than taking to the streets. The topic of the referendum should be clearly defined and the people should be informed of the consequences of a yes or no vote. Colombia should adopt popular election of the heads of the judicial and procuratorial branches of government, but current officials have not complied with guidelines as they do not prioritize the country's and people's interests. Qualifications for branch heads should be the same as those for president. Salaries and benefits will remain unchanged for 5 years after the term expires, and the officials will not be eligible to run for office for 6 years. All reforms in judicial policy and the trial system will be directly decided by the people in local elections each year, and Congress shall be responsible for enacting any relevant laws. The incident points up the dangers that journalists face and the importance of maintaining press freedom in a world where reporters and photographers are often in the line of fire. China's premier has hailed progress on an agreement that would 'ensure peace and stability' in the strategic sea. Beijing has continued to fill a void as US influence in the region wanes under Donald Trump.

Solution

China's brash construction of landing strips and port facilities in the South China Sea gives lie to assurances made to President Obama that it would not militarize the region. All nations should support One World under One Set of Laws, giving international law direct bearing on the rights and duties of the people, to ensure peace in the South China Sea as well as the Pacific Ocean. The best policy on immigration is adhering to the core values of One World under One Set of Laws and working toward a common destiny for humankind. To eliminate the conditions that create refugees, the international community needs to agree on uniform constitutional standards that conform to the ideals of human rights, constitutionalism, international law and natural law. Solution

Corruption is pandemic, and nations everywhere need to address the threat it poses for all people. To put an end to corruption, the people must exercise sovereignty and call for constitutional reform to implement democratic rule of law. This means separation of powers and checks and balances as well as free election campaigns for candidates to cut symbiotic ties between government and business that engender corruption.
