Thirty years ago most of Southeast Asia was run by thuggish dictatorships. Then the Philippines showed the rest of the world how to get rid of the dictators without violence, and its non-violent example was watched and copied around the world. But now the thugs are coming back to where it all started.
Democracies everywhere should back Taiwan's efforts at constitutional reform to achieve better democracy and more freedom. This would encourage people to call for democratization in Southeast Asian countries and lead the world closer to long-lasting peace. The prerequisite for the permanent world peace is democratization. Taiwan is one entity the best suited to lead the people of Southeast Asia toward democratization. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.
