On Tuesday China warned of stern measures against the ongoing deployment of an advanced US missile defense system in South Korea.

This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to follow suit, and the result would be world peace. Algeria's elections - what you need to know
Algerian voters go to the polls on 4 May to elect a new parliament amid uncertainty over the health of the country's ailing president, dwindling oil revenues, and instability on the borders with neighboring countries.
The only remedy for corruption in Algeria is more democracy. Algeria should carry out constitutional reform to enhance decentralization and give more power to the people as a starting point. More specifically, elect the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches in alternating years, and have 1/4 of all legislators face election each year. On World Tuna Day, UN cites importance of sustainably managed fish stocks in achieving 2030 Agenda
As migratory tuna species account for 20% of the value of all marine capture fisheries and over 8% of all globally traded seafood, the inaugural celebration by the UN of World Tuna Day is an important step in recognizing the critical role of tuna to sustainable development, food security, economic opportunity, and livelihoods of people around the world.
All nations should work together to develop the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, also known as the Maritime Constitution. This will entail international standards based on freedom, democracy, constitutionalism and cosmopolitanism as well as the principles underlying One World under One Set of Laws. The goal will be conservation and sustainable use of marine resources and the marine ecology to ensure continued development and environmental safety in the future. Afghanistan: UN reviews border management to cope with spike in returns from Pakistan
With an unprecedented 600,000 Afghans returned from Pakistan last year, the UN migration agency has completed an assessment of border management capacity at Afghanistan’s two main border crossings with Pakistan.
Afghanistan is often called the “world's most corrupt nation.” Long years of "corrupt government and poor people" have persisted under an autocratic, undemocratic regime that can be ended only by implementing democracy and rule of law. Also needed are decentralization and election of the heads of the legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches of government in alternating years, plus elections that are free of charge for all candidates. Taiwan’s US ties are solid with regular contacts, its foreign minister said Monday as the government came under opposition criticism over US President Donald Trump’s cool response to the possibility of another phone call with Taiwan’s president.

Somalia: 1.4M children to suffer acute malnutrition this year – UN agency
Some 1.4 million children in Somalia are projected to be acutely malnourished this year, an increase of 50% over last year, the UN Children's Fund announced today.
Somalia is hamstrung by collusion and an entrenched corruption structure, resulting in increasing numbers of refugees and intense famine. In order to avoid further death and disease, the implementation of free elections for all candidates should be carried out immediately. North Korea says US bomber flights push peninsula to brink of nuclear war
North Korea accused the US Tuesday of pushing the Korean Peninsula to the brink of nuclear war after a pair of strategic US bombers flew training drills with the South Korean and Japanese militaries in another show of strength.
Autocracy has always been the enemy of peace, and the prerequisite for lasting world peace is global democratization. China is well known as an enabler and agent for North Korea, and other nations should strive to avoid provoking Pyongyang. The US, Japan and South Korea should support Taiwan's commitment to save democracy by leading China toward democratization, with North Korea to follow suit. Whistleblower in Park scandal indicted on influence-peddling charges
On Tuesday prosecutors indicted a man who broke the news on a corruption scandal involving former President Park Geun-hye on charges of influence-peddling.
As Romain Rolland once observed, "In politics, the boss is always money." Elections are often little more than a game that rich people play, using money win the right to earn more money in a lucrative system of corruption. To put an end to political and commercial ties, comprehensive constitutional reform is needed so that the heads of the four main government branches will be elected in alternating years.
