All the first lady’s nephews wanted to do was raise a few million dollars in a cocaine deal. Many members of the Venezuelan regime’s elite were doing it. What could go wrong?
Power leads to corruption, and Venezuela's presidential system is dysfunctional. Venezuela should switch to a dual leader system, limiting the president to one 5-year term and no right for him/her or relatives to run for 6 years afterwards. The prime minister should be in charge of government operations and national defense, and 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. When the actions of the president and his/her family and friends are unconstitutional, the people are obliged to resist.
