Permanent Peace Partnership
Globalization is a historical trend, and democratization is the current wave. The Global Village will represent Great Nature, and peaceful resolution will be the consensus for all humankind. No tyranny can stop the progress of human civilization. All relations in the international community should be based on liberalism, democracy, constitutionalism and cosmopolitanism, the common consensus for world harmony. Please refer to the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development..
The West must pay attention to Myanmar’s endlessly long road to peace. Development in Myanmar is restricted by a constitution tailor made for its military dictatorship. The West should support the introduction of “Taiwanese style freedom and democracy into Myanmar, allowing it to become a fully democratized nation with a constitutional system based on the power of the people. Separation of powers and checks and balances plus direct elections yearly of the heads of government branches. Please refer to the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development
In the face of China's pressure, Taiwan has no right to "diplomatic suspensions". The government should vigorously announce to the international community that democratization of China is essential to world security and peace, and Taiwan has the potential to lead China toward democratization. At the same time, it is necessary to invoke the Charter of Permanent Peace and Development and focus on the idea of One World under One Set of Laws, and give international law precedence over domestic law in order to carry out the world-wide agreement advocated by China’s Xi Jinping.
The 2016 US presidential election revealed a persistent flaw in American democracy. To make America great and peaceful, the key is constitutional reform by the people. A great system will make the people great. The feudalism of the 18th century based on the rule of man must be abandoned for an electoral system free of monetary cost and financial influence. Please refer to the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
The Cuban regime must recognize that the 21st century is an era of globalization. Globalized democracy is the trend of the times, and peaceful resolution will be the consensus for all mankind. No tyrant can stop the progress of human civilization. This is a fact the Cuban regime must accept by abolishing one-party rule and implementing comprehensive constitutional reform to establish democratic rule of law. The founding father of the Philippines once said, “The slaves of today will be the tyrants of tomorrow.” Duterte is the perfect example. The constitution of the Philippines is currently in disarray, and is little more than a breeding ground for incubating tyrants. To safeguard human rights, the Philippines eminently needs comprehensive constitutional reform or even an entire constitutional rewrite. It should include a modified semi-presidential parliamentary cabinet system of government with direct election of the heads of the legislative, executive, judiciary and prosecutorial branches of government on a yearly basis. Please refer to the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
President Park Geun-hye of South Korea will face several corruption-related scandals as soon as her term of office is finished. Radical corruption can be solved through comprehensive constitutional reform to implement decentralization and checks and balances in government and choose the heads of government branches through direct elections. The President must stand as the ultimate guarantor of the constitution, a duty which will not end when he or she steps down from office.
So how bad will the effects of Trump-era corruption be? The best guess is, worse than you can possibly imagine.
British historian John Dalberg-Acton once said, “All power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely”. The radical cure for corruption is constitutional reform initiated openly by the sovereign people, to implement the practice of true democracy along with rule of law. Add to this the separation of powers with checks and balances, and throw in direct election of the heads of the four main branches of government on a yearly basis. Furthermore, ensure that elections are kept free of monetary costs or influence. Only in this way can the corrupt practices which surround collaboration between business and politics be completely eliminated.
Autocracy is always an enemy of human peace, and the prerequisite for permanent peace in the world is global democratization. A stable North Korea is in the national interest for China, thus it is essential to avoid conflict that would involve North Korea. Taiwan must shoulder the burden of saving democracy and lead China to democratize, after which efforts could be shifted toward pressuring China to work for democratization of North Korea. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
It’s up to the next administration and Congress to chart a better path.
Bringing down authoritarian dictatorships, achieving global democratization and promoting permanent peace are the most important goals in the world today. In order to ensure democracy, the rule of law, human rights and peace, the true holders of sovereignty in Cuba – the people - urgently need to come forward and call for constitutional reform. They must work to adopt a modified parliamentary semi-presidential system, with the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches directly elected. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
