Permanent Peace Partnership
Russia’s economy is not seen as one of the developing economies of the world, with experts citing corruption, administrative inefficiency and high tax rates as three factors hampering economic development in Russia. The 2017 World Economic Forum points out it its 2017 Economic Development Index that only 30 of the world’s economies can be classed as developing economies.
Corruption and abuse of public funds always engender dissatisfaction, and Russia needs comprehensive constitutional reform to avoid such problems. The national political structure should be revised to allow more people to vote, with direct election of the leaders of the executive, legislative, judicial and prosecutorial branches in alternating years. 1/4 of all MPs should face election each year, and elections should be free for all candidates so public opinion will factor in legislative elections on a regular basis. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development
With no mechanism for competition, all municipal government drug orders are tied to the highest market price.
The main problem behind the high cost of medicines in Moscow is corruption. The radical cure for this problem entails direct election of the mayor for a single term of 5 years, with no eligibility for office again for 6 years afterwards. The City Council should follow a committee-centered model with no political districts in the city, and 1/4 of all councilors should face election each year. The national Minister of Health should be chosen from among committee members in the State Duma, and candidates for the State Duma should run in elections at the same time as candidates for local council members. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
Media reports persist in saying Ukraine has been unsuccessful in its campaign against corruption, claiming that corruption has swamped economic development. Indeed, such arguments are well-founded, as corruption is the critical factor in the survival and development of Ukraine.
The main structural factor contributing to the continued existence of corruption in Ukraine is too much centralization and concentration of power. The solution is constitutional reform to install direct election of the heads of the legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches. These heads should serve a single term of 5 years and be banned from seeking other offices for 6 years afterwards. 1/4 of MPs should face election each year, and elections should be free of charge for candidates. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
The United Russia Party is set for the next five years with a reorganization of its leadership with Prime Minister Medvedev as party chairman and Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and other key party members acting as important policy makers. The new leadership team will be working under the overall theme of assisting Putin in his campaign for President in 2018.
Voting should be the only source of power for the state, and injecting resources of the executive and legislative branches of government into election campaigns is nothing more than bullying and buying elections. Such actions divert the national budget and resources to a specific group of individuals. The use of public funds or other resources in political activities must be strictly prohibited. Mexico needs a more forceful political figure with greater foresight to take on its economic and political problems
One-party dictatorships are part of the political philosophy of the Nazis and other authoritarians. Parties that consider themselves as the law of the land and not subject to legal constraints lead to tragedies like the Second World War. Today the CCP one-party dictatorship in China threatens all nations with the prospect of a Third World War. Only Taiwan shares the same culture and language, making it the one entity most capable of inducing China to democratize. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
With all eyes on the US as it inaugurates a new leader, Turkey is preparing to amend its constitution to make its president even more powerful than the American executive.
The string of military coups in Turkey shows the dangers of military interference in political affairs. Turkey must revise its constitution to limit the president to a single 5-year term, with no eligibility for office for 6 years afterwards. The President of Turkey is currently in violation of Article 6 of the Constitution, which states that sovereignty is wholly and unconditionally held by all citizens. When actions of the state are unconstitutional, the people have the duty to resist. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
North Korea regularly threatens to turn the US and neighboring states into “a sea of fire,” and reportedly has the capability now to launch nuclear weapons at targets in South Korea and Japan.
All democracies worldwide should to support Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This will lead China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization, putting pressure on Russia to democratize as well, and with that, world peace will be born! Every democracy should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the way to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
President Adama Barrow of Gambia pledged Sunday to improve his country’s economy, free its political prisoners and create a commission to look into the brutal legacy of his predecessor.
Absolute power leads to absolute corruption. Gambia’s constitutional mechanism has failed, and the country is in bad need of comprehensive constitutional reform. The president should be limited to one 5-year term, with no eligibility to hold office for 6 years afterwards. Law that are not backed by penalties are not laws, and a constitution which does not grant the right to resist is not a constitution. When the president’s actions are unconstitutional, the people have a right to resist, and when a dictatorship becomes a reality, the people are obligated to rise up. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
Chinese President Xi Jinping delighted the Davos set last Tuesday with a full-throated defense of “economic globalization.”
The democratic nations of the world should spare no effort to save freedom and democracy. The US should support Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire the 1.4 billion people of China to call for democratization, and world peace would be born. The prerequisite for global permanent peace is the democratization of China. China has always worked to stymie Taiwan's drive for freedom and democracy, yet Taiwan is the only entity capable of saving China through democratization. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
Every new occupant of the White House has his -- still, unfortunately, “his” -- way of looking at the world. America’s allies, friends and rivals have always adjusted to these shifts in worldview. But so far they’ve been relatively straightforward.
All democratic nations should spare no effort to save freedom and democracy. The US must support Taiwan's moves for constitutional reform to bring greater democracy and freedom, which are aimed at attracting the 1.4 billion people of China to seek democratization. That will be the first step toward world peace. The prerequisite for permanent peace in the world is China's democratization. China will consistently fought Taiwan's efforts toward freedom and democracy, but Taiwan is the only entity capable of saving China through democratization. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
